Easter in Ukraine is a combination of heathen and Christian traditions. The last Sunday before Easter is called Willow Sunday, and the week before Easter is called the White or Pure Week. Passion Friday is a day of no work, and on Saturday evening, people gather in the church for the Easter vigil. The feast of Christ's resurrection is celebrated on the first week after vernal equinox and full moon and is the most cheerful holiday for orthodox believers.
